Ahoy me hearties! 2020 marks a particularly special year for one of the largest tableaux in the display. Thanks to sponsorship from Coral Island, the Pirate Tableau, a firm family favourite in the Blackpool Illuminations, has undertaken a major refurbishment – or should we say had its timbers shivered?
The main structural pieces have been re-built and the moving parts refurbished, giving them an extra spring of life. As part of our collaboration, look out for Coral Island’s recognisable skull and crossbones, along with an illuminated Buccaneer Bar and Captain Jack’s Bar and Grill.
You simply must take time to come and see this at night because once darkness falls it really does come to life with vivid colors illuminating the intricate design. Furthermore, the tableau actually moves! See the pirates fight and the ship sail.. Watch out for sharks in the salty waters around this huge 100ft long installation.
The Tableaux are located on the seafront at North Shore Blackpool (It's actually the town of Bispham).
