The Blackpool Cup, an international celebration of football, which will see almost 150 boys and girls youth teams from 10 counties competing against each other, will be coming to Blackpool and Preston this April, and Coral Island is proud to announce that we are sponsoring the event!
On 8-9 and 29-30 April, the international teams, which include boys and girls teams from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, and Poland in 9 different age categories, will face off against each other at the UCLan Sports Arena, Preston and Blackpool Enterprise Zone, Blackpool, all hoping to win the coveted trophy.
Coral Island’s managing director, Jeff MacNamara, said: “We get a lot of families and kids coming down to Coral Island over the weekends that the Blackpool Cup Tournament is being held, and we really wanted to be part of it!”
Jeff added that both his son and daughter play for local youth teams, and he’s from a football-mad household, and he was hoping to get a chance to go and see a bit of the football being played on the phenomenal pitches and venues.
“It’s a great opportunity to get involved locally and not only promote Coral Island and all the fun and excitement it’s known for but to also help and support Blackpool as a whole,” he added.
Of course, Coral Island is extending an invite to all the visiting kids and families from across Europe and beyond to visit Blackpool’s biggest free-admission attraction, and be welcomed with open arms!
