Everyone knows that if you’re looking for a fantastic night out with almost unlimited options for what to do, where to go, what to see, eat, and drink, then Blackpool is the place to be!

From breakfast on the seafront, fish and chips for lunch on the beach, and afternoon tea in the Tower Ballroom, to a pre-show meal, an evening at the theatre, dancing the night away and spending the early hours feeling glamorous in Blackpool’s friendliest casino soaking up the atmosphere, planning a full day out in the Lancashire seaside town is easy.

But when it comes to planning what shows to see, there’s sometimes that much going on, it can be tricky to decide what book! So we thought we’d have a look at some of the hottest and unmissable shows happening in Blackpool over the summer months to help you decide!

The Winter Gardens - www.wintergardensblackpool.co.uk

The Winter Gardens in the centre of town is as iconic a landmark in Blackpool as the famous Tower, and has been around for much longer than most of the seaside town’s famous attractions, dating back to 1878! There’s always a packed calendar of events at the Winter Gardens, pre-show meal offers, or you could even book a tour of the fabulous Art Deco venue.

Let’s have a look to see what’s coming up this summer!

In June, you can shake a tail feather at Totally Tina on 3 June, where the UK’s number one Tina Turner tribute act faithfully recreates a live concert to celebrate the golden anniversary of the Queen of Rock’n’Roll’s signature track, Proud Mary. Music fans will also not want to miss The International Soul Festival’s Flavours Of The Festival All-Dayer on 17 June.

Comedy fans will undoubtedly want to see Jimmy Carr on 9 June, host of 8 Out Of 10 Cats and the irreverent Countdown crossover, as well as The Big Fat Quiz annual shows and much more, with his Terribly Funny 2.0 tour, but be quick as tickets are selling fast! On 12 June, why not book tickets to see the hilarious Sarah Millican on her Late Bloomer tour?

The Blackpool Comedy Festival comes to the Winter Gardens on 7 and 8 July, with such comedy stars as the legendary Suzy Eddie Izzard, Angelos Epithemiou, Seann Walsh, and many more. There are musical shows in July with tributes to Neil Diamond, Michael Jackson, and George Michael, as well as Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra, and soul legends The Drifters.

The award-winning Six: The Musical also returns to Blackpool in July, where the six wives of Henry VIII take the mic to tell their stories, and remix 500 years of history into an 80-minute rebellious celebration of 21st-century girl power. Certainly not to be missed!

If that has stoked your rebellious nature, then you should certainly book tickets to Rebellion Festival on 6 August, the largest independent punk and alternative music festival in the world! Punks and bands from all eras of the genre gather in Blackpool for what is surely going to be a loud, colourful and raucous event, complete with a Bizarre Bazaar and Punk Rock Bingo!

The Grand Theatre Blackpool - www.blackpoolgrand.co.uk

The Grand Theatre is another Blackpool icon, designed by legendary Victorian architect Frank Matcham, who also designed the Tower Ballroom. First opening in 1894, the Grand has been home to circuses and bingo halls, and now is a theatre once more, with everything from family-friendly shows and pantomimes to Shakespeare and whodunnit murder mysteries!

After selling out shows worldwide, Seven Drunken Nights - The Story Of The Dubliners comes to The Grand on 4 June direct from the West End. The show tells the tale of the 50-year career of the famous Irish band, with a talented cast of musicians and singers bringing the music of The Dubliners back to life in this ultimate feel-good Irish show.

Lipstick On Your Collar on 11 June will get you to step back in time to a golden era of jukeboxes and dancing to hits from the north of Rock’n’Roll right through to the sounds of the British Invasion, with tracks from the likes of Buddy Holly, Chuck Berry, The Beatles, The Ronettes, Cliff Richard, Cilla Black and many more.

Celebrating 70 years as the world’s longest-running play, The Mousetrap is the genre-defining murder mystery from the undisputed queen of thrillers, Agatha Christie, and coming to The Grand from 19 to 24 June.

As news spreads about a murder in London, seven strangers find themselves snowed in at a countryside retreat. But a killer hides among them - can you figure out whodunnit? Don’t just see it, solve it!

Get your blue suede shoes on for This Is Elvis on 25 June, as the internationally renowned Elvis tribute artist Ben Portsmouth brings his 9-piece band and jaw-dropping show to Blackpool. The ultimate Elton John tribute show also comes to The Grand on 2 July, with an astounding back catalogue of songs, from Rocket Man to Tiny Dancer and more!

If it’s a classic Regency rom-com you’re looking for, then Quality Street, a beloved production that gave its name to the chocolates, and from J M Barrie, the writer of Peter Pan, is a must-see show. When Captain Valentine returns from 10 years of fighting in the Napoleonic Wars, he’s disappointed to find his old flame is not the glamorous girl he left behind.

But Phoebe is spurred into action, becoming her alter ego Miss Livvy, who beguiles the Captain. But can she manage to juggle both of her personas and win him over, or cause a scandal in the town?
